Historical script (chữ Nôm / Hán)
Before the Latin alphabet (chữ Quốc ngữ) became standard, nữa could be written as 女, 姅. Today Vietnamese is written only in the Latin alphabet.

nữa means "more, again, further", and it always comes after what it modifies.

Compare with thêm, which goes before the noun: thêm một chai bia = one more beer. Both are common, and they combine: Cho thêm một chai nữa.
không … nữa = "not anymore" is very useful: Tôi không hút thuốc nữa. — I don't smoke anymore.
nữa in time expressions means "from now": hai ngày nữa = in two days' time, whereas hai ngày trước = two days ago.
